The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Interior Designer, Junior to complement our team in Calgary, AB, where we are involved in exciting work across a range of sectors including the workplace, commercial, senior living, public, and healthcare. At the junior level, our Interior Designers are involved in coming up with design concepts, space planning, presentations, producing drawings, researching materials, client interaction, and project management.  

Here's what you’ll be doing at Kasian:

•    Assist with concept and schematic design
•    Assist with site planning and programming
•    Create presentation material including presentation boards, material boards, models, elevations, and 3D renderings
•    Assist in preparation of development permit packages, assist with rezoning submission packages
•    Assist in preliminary code and bylaw analysis
•    Assist with client and consultant communication and coordination
•    Assist in the preparation of contract documents
•    May assist with contract administration items such as change orders and progress claims

Here’s what you bring to Kasian: 

•   Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, CIDA accredited degree preferred

•   2+ years of interior design experience in a variety of market sectors including workplace

•   NCIDQ certification, or working towards obtaining it

•   Ability to prepare and complete a comprehensive interior design construction set of drawings

•   Excellent graphics software proficiency (Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Cloud), experience with Lumion and Enscape for rendering an asset

•   Demonstrated design skills, knowledge of design principles and elements, and creativity

•   Understanding of construction and construction administration process

•   Knowledge of applicable building codes and by-laws

•   Excellent time management and teamwork skills

•   Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
