The Role

We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to join our Hospitality team at The Maverick by Kasa. In this role, you will lead the housekeeping team, uphold high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, and oversee the housekeeping department budget. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for Hospitality, with direct experience in overseeing and managing a housekeeping staff or a similar role and interacting with guests as needed. They should have a proven track record of delivering exceptional housekeeping services to ensure a safe and pristine environment, contributing to an outstanding guest experience.

 

About the Team

This role is in Kasa’s Northeast Portfolio Operations department, but will report into our Pittsburgh Operations team. Our mission is to ensure our guests have a seamless experience. Our team members are located all over the Northeast United States and have diverse backgrounds from many different industries. A Day in the life of a Housekeeping Manager

Like many operations roles, there is no ‘typical day.' Your role will involve a wide range of activities tending to the hotel's operation. As the Housekeeping Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee the hotel's housekeeping operations. This involves coaching, leading, and managing the performance of the Housekeeping team. Working closely with hotel leadership and the Portfolio Management team, you will oversee or directly execute our cleaning operations. Your role includes maintaining relationships with local labor agencies and relevant vendors. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing scheduling and work distribution for the Housekeeping operation.

 

Beyond the day-to-day operations, you will be the go-to person for training our housekeepers on Kasa cleaning standards. It's important to note that this role is not only about standards but also involves hands-on work and may have your own cleaning list.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily housekeeping operations, ensuring rooms and public areas meet high cleanliness standards.  
  • Manage relationships with staffing agencies, vendors, and partners.  
  • Enforce policies, lead team meetings, and create process documentation as needed.  
  • Hire, train, and manage housekeeping staff, fostering a positive work culture.  
  • Oversee budgets, conduct inventory checks, and ensure proper handling of cleaning supplies.  
  • Collaborate with property teams on in-unit projects and maintenance requests.  
  • Perform quality assurance checks and contribute to daily cleaning tasks as necessary.  
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Act as a liaison between guests and housekeeping to accommodate special requests or resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve housekeeping-related issues and be on-call for emergencies. 
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned to support overall hotel operations. 

 

Experience

  • 3+ years in senior housekeeping management (e.g., executive housekeeper, director).
  • 2+ years in hospitality or guest services.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental services, cleaning processes, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate in English; Spanish language skills are also preferred.
  • Very comfortable using technology and learning new software and programs
  • High attention to detail and dedication to guest experience.
  • Strong Technology Skills: Well-versed/Willing to learn our systems such as Google Suite, Notion, Slack, Breezeway, Safety Culture, and industry-level PMS. You enjoy mobile technology!
  • You're comfortable lifting objects up to 25-50 pounds and standing or walking for up to 8 hours a day.

  • 5+ years of hotel experience with large entities
  • 5+ years of guest service experience in the hospitality industry
  • Specialized experience working with boutique hotels or other startups to establish initial brand standards.
  • Proven track record in hiring, supporting, and fostering a positive culture within onsite teams.
