This role is fully remote based in the US; we put a location because some job boards require it

Kasa seeks a highly motivated professional with revenue accounting experience in the hospitality industry to join us as a Senior Hospitality Revenue Accountant (remote). The Senior Revenue Accountant should understand hospitality revenue recognition, accrual accounting, and occupancy/sales tax policies. If you thrive in dynamic, tech-driven environments and excel in cross-functional collaboration, join us to enhance our financial reporting systems and deliver superior value to Kasa’s partners and guests!

The Role

Kasa is a fast-growing tech-enabled brand and operator of hotel, multifamily, and single-family hospitality accommodations for guests in dozens of markets nationwide. Kasa manages properties on behalf of institutional and local property owners across various price and luxury tiers.

In this pivotal role, the Senior Revenue Accountant will be the primary individual responsible for Kasa’s revenue accounting function, including revenue recognition, audit procedures, reconciliation accuracy and efficacy, cash to GAAP reconciliations, reimbursable revenue processes, sales and occupancy tax integrations, and systems maintenance. By doing so, you will help ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for Kasa’s property partners and investors. Your mission as the Senior Revenue Accountant is to own all aspects of revenue accounting to continue Kasa’s success in delivering market-leading financial reporting to our hotel and multifamily partners while improving Kasa’s tech-driven approach to scalable accounting solutions for the hospitality industry.

This is not just a typical accounting role, but an extraordinary opportunity to join a truly differentiated finance operation that drives tremendous value for Kasa’s property partners and investors. Unlike roles in legacy accounting functions with static systems and repetitive processes, the Senior Revenue Accountant will require a strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of hospitality revenue recognition rules. Additionally, this role is highly cross-functional with daily interaction with other finance team members, international reconciliation support, and Kasa’s internal tech team to continue improving our system accuracy.

As the company’s main “owner” of revenue accuracy, you will be the primary individual responsible for Kasa’s revenue reporting with direct connectivity to accounting leadership. This role is remote and will report directly to the Senior Manager of Finance and Accounting.

Your Impact as the Senior Revenue Accountant

  • Revenue Reconciliation Scalability & Accuracy: Given Kasa’s highly centralized accounting function, it’s critical to continually improve our revenue reconciliation and recognition processes to take advantage of automation.
  • Audit Improvements: Ensure accurate transient occupancy tax settings and reporting (working closely with other members of the finance team), while also ensuring that revenue practices are consistent with audit requirements from real estate partners and Kasa’s corporate auditor.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Help drive cross-functional accountability for reservation revenue accuracy, third-party channel payment accuracy and revenue recognition within the reservations and billing team.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
