Kasa seeks a passionate and driven people leader to join us as the Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting. You should have a deep understanding of hotel management agreement reporting standards (USALI, GAAP), lease accounting, GAAP reporting, and a CPA License is strongly preferred. If you thrive in dynamic, tech-driven environments and have a track record of success leading hospitality accounting teams, join us to implement scalable processes and solutions for our reporting functions and play a pivotal role in Kasa’s success!

The Role

Kasa is the leading tech-enabled brand and operator of hotel, multifamily, and single-family hospitality accommodations for guests in dozens of markets nationwide. Kasa manages properties on behalf of institutional and local property owners across various price and luxury tiers.

In this pivotal role, the Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting will lead Kasa’s corporate and property-level accounting and reporting teams, building scalable processes while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for Kasa’s property partners and investors. Your mission is to continue Kasa’s success in delivering market-leading financial reporting to our hotel and multifamily partners while improving Kasa’s tech-driven approach to scalable accounting solutions for the hospitality industry.

This is not just a typical accounting leadership role, but an extraordinary opportunity to join a truly differentiated finance operation that drives tremendous value for Kasa’s property partners and investors. Unlike roles in legacy hospitality companies with static systems and anachronistic processes, the Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting will be at the forefront of innovating our reporting functions across different mediums, systems, partnership structures and reconciliation processes to truly innovate relative to stale accounting processes of the past. We seek a visionary candidate to be our Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting, who is thrilled by the prospect of driving transformative changes and playing a pivotal role in evolving a critical aspect of our business.

As the top accounting leader at the company, you will be the primary individual responsible for the company’s financial reporting with direct connectivity to the executive team and Board of Directors. This role is remote and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Your Impact

  • Improve Property-Level Reporting Scalability: Kasa operates in a centralized fashion - significantly more efficient than traditional hospitality companies and with scalable systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that our systems and processes become ever more scalable, ensuring reliable and accurate reporting as we grow, with limited need for additional resources.

Synthesize the information by surfacing the most impactful results as well as the areas of financial performance that can impact future strategy and decision-making.

  • Inspire Finance Team to Strive for More: Act as an inspirational leader to encourage more empowerment amongst finance team members to continue improving their role as critical thought leaders within the broader organization.

Your Responsibilities

  • Reporting Accuracy & Timeliness: Accurate and timely reporting for our properties and corporate investors is critical to Kasa’s near and long-term success. You will have direct responsibility to ensure that we remain best-in-class for this critical function, including, but not limited to, corporate allocation decisions, new partnership structuring decision-making, KPI reporting, partner reporting mediums, and managing scalable reconciliation processes.
  • Team Management: Oversee and inspire a ~15 person team across the US and Mexico to produce top-tier financial reporting while maximizing reconciliation efficiency to achieve greater economies of scale as Kasa continues to grow.
  • Tax and Audit Improvements: Ensure SOC and audit compliance as Kasa continues to grow across multiple jurisdictions, agreement types and with various investment partners.
  • Partner and Cross-Functional Management: Oversee multiple external partnerships with tax, audit, real estate and legal firms across a wide range of financial reporting-related projects, as well as mentorship of property general managers and financial reporting managers on best practices, frequencies, and approaches to property owner financial reporting. Key internal stakeholders with frequent interaction with this role include regional general managers, real estate growth, sales and marketing, reservations and distributions.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
