Karbon Intelligence (Data)

In our quest to democratise operations expertise to accounting firms of all sizes, one of our core beliefs is that data will play an essential role. Karbon is at the nexus of several critical data sources -- including time tracking, proposals, invoicing, billing and general ledgers. On the foundation of this rich data, we aim to build a suite of products to help accounting firms of all sizes effortlessly optimize every aspect of their business operations and better support their client experiences. 

Practice Intelligence is a brand new initiative at Karbon and so we are looking for an entrepreneurial Product Manager who is excited about building data-powered products from scratch. This is a unique opportunity to build a strategically crucial product suite within a rapidly-growing well-funded organisation.

As our founding Product Manager, you will work on everything from market analysis, designing systems and processes to improve data quality and availability, to building highly reliable and scalable data pipelines that power both analytical APIs consumed by external systems as well as in-product optimizations. 

We are looking for someone who has a passion for data and data-powered products, and who is willing to roll up their sleeves to scrappily build things as they are required with high autonomy.

Qualities we are looking for:

  • 5+ years experience in a Product Management role delivering high-quality solutions
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and passionate about building great products that meet our customer’s needs 
  • Experience working on SaaS apps that target businesses or consumers
  • Driven to understand customer insights and champion their voice
  • Analytical skills and desire to dig into the data to understand user behaviour and success metrics
  • Ability to create roadmaps backed by solid business cases
  • Ownership of the product lifecycle from requirements gathering through design, development, and release
  • Champion the backlog of small-sized customer requests into Sprints
  • Contribute to sprint planning by balancing features, continuous improvement tasks, tech debt and bugs
  • Be a team player who is able to establish rapport, credibility, and trust throughout the organisation at all levels
  • Champion the collection, storage, and retrieval of platform data, and partner closely with stakeholders to ensure we’re able to answer the most impactful data questions

Role specific qualities:

    • An understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data infrastructure, dimensional modelling
    • Have deep empathy for users with varying levels of data literacy, and the ability to present a compelling data narrative which can be accessible by users along the spectrum from advanced to novice
    • Have experience translating key customer questions into data problems to be solved, as well as partnering with engineers, data scientists, designers, and customers to ensure the data product is accurate, actionable, and useful
