
Game Artist/Animator

The Opportunity:
Kano is seeking a talented Game Artist/2D Animator with expertise in creating short, dynamic, and eye-catching animations to join our team. As an animator, you will transform our 2D art assets into visually engaging animations for advertisements and social media, promoting our games. Our goal is to build long-lasting customer-centric gaming experiences that have challenges and opportunities in both the business and creative realms.
This opportunity is a 1-year temporary position with the potential to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the creative and marketing team to brainstorm and conceptualize ideas for animations.
- Create smooth animations using existing and new 2D assets, backgrounds, characters, and effects.
- Add sound effects, animate engaging logos, and icons.
- Develop storyboards for animation concepts for review and approval by the Art Director.
- Work with other artists and animators to maintain a consistent style across projects.
- Incorporate feedback to refine and improve assets and animations.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in art, animation, and the gaming industry.
- Suggest and implement new techniques, tools, and approaches to enhance production quality and efficiency.
Essential Qualifications:
- 2+ years proven experience as a Game Artist or Animator, preferably in the gaming industry.
- Strong proficiency in 2D design and animation tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, and After Effects or equivalent software.
- A portfolio showcasing high-quality creative artwork and animations.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to create polished art and animations from concept to final asset.
- Strong understanding of color theory, composition, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Unity is a plus.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Unity is a plus.
- Motion Graphics & VFX – Experience adding visual effects, transitions, and dynamic motion to enhance ad appeal.
- User Engagement Focus – Awareness of ad trends and best practices to create high-converting animations.
- 2D skeletal animation tools
Salary:
$85,000
Kano is a remote-first workplace with an in-person attendance requirement 2-6 times a year.
