Responsibilities
- To understand business requirements in the BI context and design data models to convert raw data to meaningful insights
- Consulting with data management teams to get a big-picture of the product and provide the solutions
- Designing and coding the data warehousing system to desired product specifications.
- Conducting preliminary testing of the warehousing environment before data is extracted.
- Extracting and storing data in Cloud Environments
- Reconciliation of the data with source vs Target
- Troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
- Providing maintenance support.
- Responsible for deployment and reconciling data.
- To identify KPIs with clear objectives and monitor them consistently.
- To analyze data and present it through reports that can help in decision-making.
- To be able to convert business requirements into technical specifications and decide the timeline to accomplish tasks.
- To create charts and document data with algorithms, parameters, models, and relations explanations
- To conduct data warehouse development
- To perform SQL querying for best results
- To use filters and graphs for a better understanding of the data
- To define and design new systems by analyzing current ETL processes.
- To make technical changes to existing BI systems to enhance their functioning.
- Reconciliation of the data with source vs Target
- Troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
- Providing maintenance support.
Requirements
Experience of BI tools and SQLs, to handle the BI ETL and Reporting requirements for the Team
- At least 2-4 years of experience in any one of the ETL tool like Pentaho PDI Kettle tool, Informatica, SSIS, Talend etc.
- Coverage of dimensional modeling techniques
- Work experience in either of the RDBMS (PostgreSQL or/and MSSQL or/and ORACLE)
- Ability to write stored procedures
- Exposure to PDI, caching mechanisms (nice to have)
- Knowledge in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Perl, etc.)
- Knowledge in programming languages (JavaScript, Java, C++, etc.)
- Exposure to Kafka and Kafka-based data processing/transformation.
- Specialization in database engineering skills – SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, etc.
- Exposure to warehousing architecture processes – MOLAP, ROLAP, EDW, etc.
- Sufficient knowledge about OLAP, SSAS and MDX
- Understanding of modeling tools – Toad Data Modeler, Erwin, etc.
- Parameterization of ETL jobs for better time management
- Exposure to Cloud Deployments like AWS, Azure/ google, will be added value.
- Proven work experience as a BI Reports developer, will be an added value.
- Data analytical, thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.
- Experience in Cloud Deployments like AWS, Azure/ google.
