Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the BI strategy, including design, deployment, administration, and support of the Microsoft BI stack.
- Collaborate on database integration and architecture, including dimensional data modeling, database design, and ETL development.
- Architect, design, build, and maintain data warehouse and data mart solutions to meet business needs.
- Provide technical guidance to ETL developers, BI developers, and application developers for solution implementation.
- Research and identify new data acquisition methods.
- Monitor and report on database effectiveness and accuracy, implementing feedback systems as necessary.
- Maintain database security and establish standards for data safety.
- Implement monitoring tools and tuning procedures.
- Possess proficiency in RDBMS and Big Data handling techniques.
- Knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, database configuration, patching, statistics, and database maintenance.
- Preferred expertise in PostgreSQL database administration and best practices.
- Demonstrate familiarity with cloud solutions and services in a hybrid cloud environment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience with a minimum of 3 years as a Data Architect.
- Experience with various data pipelines, including on-premises and cloud storage facilities (data lakes, data warehouses, data hubs).
- Proficiency in data streaming and Big Data analytics solutions.
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or Python.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of Apache Spark, Kafka, and other Big Data tools is a plus.
- Exposure to reporting tools, preferably PowerBI.
- ETL tool experience is essential, including traditional/batch mode (ETL tool UI-based or PL/SQL) and streaming techniques (Kafka streaming).
- Skills in metadata management.
- Hands-on experience with a wide range of data-related technologies.
- Proficiency in database management system software, including Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, and Oracle.
- Knowledge of operating systems, including UNIX, Linux, Solaris, and MS Windows.
- Strong communication skills.
