Product Designer

At Kajabi, the Product Designer is the primary driver in the process of defining how our application looks and functions. They are skilled at every stage of the design process and thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment. Kajabi is a data-first company and our Product Design team makes great decisions based on extensive research and qualitative and quantitative data. To be successful in this role, you will first and foremost stay deeply focused on the needs of our customers. You’ll distill complex problems into delightful, elegant solutions, and keep business goals top-of-mind, even as you create world-class experiences. Most importantly, you’ll contribute meaningfully to the success of our customers.

The Impact you will make

  • Work with cross-functional teams from discovery to delivery, leveraging both analytics and user interviews to come up with well-informed, creative solutions
  • Work in rapid cycles of experimentation and iteration to deliver design artifacts that can be validated with users early and often
  • Collaborate with other designers to continuously improve our design processes, workflows, and expectations of quality
  • Work closely with developers to ensure that designs are executed accurately, consistently, and with a high bar of quality
  • Clearly and effectively communicate product design ideas to cross-functional team members and senior leadership
  • Develop a strong partnership with your Product Manager and collaborate with them through the different phases of research and discovery to uncover the most impactful solution
  • Contribute to the design and long term success of our Sage Design system
  • Take direction and work both collaboratively and autonomously
  • Stay up to date on current industry trends and market conditions
  • Foster a culture of creativity throughout the organization

Attributes for Success

  • A minimum of 2 years experience designing relevant products
  • A passion for critical thinking and a desire to go deep on a problem before putting pen to paper
  • An understanding of all phases of the product design process including user research, UX design, UI/interaction design, visual design, prototyping, wireframing, and usability testing
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of user needs and customer empathy
  • Passion for great design and a desire to keep improving
  • A proven track record of effective communication and collaboration with developers and product managers
  • The ability to interpret both qualitative and quantitative data

Bonus if you have

  • Experience using and creating design systems
  • Experience with Design Thinking and Design Sprints
  • Experience conducting research and usability tests
  • Experience working in a SAAS environment
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs and an appreciation for the grit and determination it requires to start a small business

Educational Allowances

Educational opportunities will be offered for the Product Designer at the discretion of the VP of Design and could include participating in a mentorship program, training to further specific career goals, books or digital content to supplement education and attendance at conferences areas of interest and impact for Kajabi’s overall goals and your desired career goals.

One-On-One Process

The Product Designer will meet weekly with their Design Lead to catch up and discuss their role. The goal of these meetings is to identify areas where the company and individuals can improve, what areas they’re needing more guidance on, and where the Kajabi leadership team can lend time or resources to help meet goals. It’s also a time to discuss specific expectations and discuss any areas of concern you may have about your job or your team.
