Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Power Generation Engineer to support the development of the KP-FHR Power Generation System (PGS), including steam cycles and associated equipment. In this role, you will primarily assist in analyzing system performance, vetting proposals from senior engineers and external partners, and ensuring the integration of effective solutions. Responsibilities
- Support analysis of the KP-FHR PGS, focusing on the steam cycle and its associated equipment
- Evaluate and vet technical proposals and designs submitted by senior engineers and external vendors for feasibility and compliance with project specifications
- Conduct performance simulations and data analysis to support design decisions and optimize system efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to provide insights and recommendations based on analysis results
- Support documentation efforts, including reports, specifications, and design drawings, to ensure thorough records of system development
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions regarding system design, challenges, and solutions
- Stay informed on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to power conversion systems
- Provide support in the preparation of presentations and technical reports for stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in engineering analysis, preferably in power conversion systems or nuclear power
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles as they relate to steam cycles
- Proficiency in engineering simulation tools and software (e.g., Aspen Plus, Thermoflex) is a plus
- Ability to analyze complex technical information and provide clear recommendations
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment
- Ability to foster an environment that creates new and better ways to be successful
- Excellent communication/presentation, and interpersonal skills; must be able to interact and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, and with external partners

The salary range for this position is $116,400 to $137,000 for employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, the market data for your work location, and a comparison to other employees already in the role.
