Job Summary
Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Systems Administrator with expertise in enterprise resource planning software administration. In this role, you will build, maintain, optimize, and secure key Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) software infrastructure that operators will use to manage facilities and operate plants across all sites at Kairos Power. These platforms will support hardware, software, and data management used for plant operations and testing activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage software platforms for SCADA/HMI, Electronic Procedures, Operations Management, Control System programming, Simulator Platform, AWS servers, and more
- Configure platforms to match team needs
- Seize opportunities for modularization and containerization to rapidly deploy solutions on new systems
- Identify, prioritize, and schedule patches and updates for critical vulnerabilities, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption
- Train users on access and use of OT platforms
- Assume primary responsibility for organizing and maintaining data assets produced by OT software platforms
- Develop data management processes and procedures
- Integrate processes across various software and hardware systems
- Integrate realtime and batch data across multiple software platforms, including electronic data management systems by leveraging APIs, ETL, and scripting/light coding
- Create custom queries and guide others in using query tools
- Work on cross-cutting projects with controls engineers, operations, IT, and mechanical designers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- 3+ years demonstrated systems administration experience
- Experience includes but not limited to Inductive Automation Ignition, Epsilon3, Rockwell Automation Network Suite, Apros, AWS, VMWare, Docker, SCADA, HMI, ERP, Electronic Procedures, Plant Simulators, Control System programming is preferred
- Proficiency with structured query languages (SQL, PostgreSQL) is required
- Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders to understand and develop software requirements
- Abides by an automation-first philosophy
- Experience with virtual environments is preferred
- Programming proficiency (Python, C++, C#) is a plus
- Web development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
- Background knowledge in user experience design, human factors, and industrial automation design is desired
- Ability to work on tasks and teams that require a multi-disciplinary approach
- Proven team player with excellent verbal, written communication/presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with highly collaborative team
- Ability to work alone on assigned work projects
- Prioritizes and ensures safety of one self and others
- Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge
- Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges and issues

- Occasional travel to other Kairos Power sites may be required (15%)
