ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) is responsible for the definition, planning, coordination, design and execution of manufacturing mechanical fixturing, automation equipment and process flow for new products, sustaining operations and process improvement, and capacity expansion for Juul devices, pods, and accessories. They will define and execute field and site acceptance test criterias, PFMEA, Process and Equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), process documentation, factory
training, and spare parts management
The Sr. AME supports product development in the areas of requirements specifications and tolerances, product design reviews for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA), design failure modes and effects analysis, definition of process flow and line layouts through the NPI phases. The Sr. AME supports continuous improvement for sustaining operations and capacity expansions in the areas of efficiency improvement, ergonomics improvements, downtime mitigation, yield analysis and improvement through end of life of our products.
The successful candidate will need to identify and solve problems related to production processes, equipment, metrology, and manufacturability. The successful candidate will need to be proficient in 3D modeling application Solidworks and can understand design intent.
- Design Mechanical Fixtures in Solidworks with 2D drawings for fabrication and implementation
- Design and integrate Fixturing, off the shelf components and process modules, safety and access control into automated equipment for manufacturing
- Bring up new manufacturing production lines and equipment through debug, DOEs, buy-off, FAT and SAT
- Ensure Machine Operation, Service, PM manual, Mechanical and electrical drawings, software are controlled and updated
- Collaborate with CMs and Factory Engineering team to ramp new manufacturing production lines and equipment to targets to meet business needs, analyze yield and OEE issues to identify areas and opportunity for continuous improvement and implement resolutions
- Collaborate with Product Development team to evaluate complex mechanical and electronic assemblies for design for manufacturability and assembly, develop fixtures and equipment to support New Product Introduction to CMs from prototype to mass production
- Validate manufacturing lines and equipment through IQ/OQ/PQ validation process
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years of experience with one or more of the following: high volume consumer electronics product ramp, manufacturing engineering, process development, manufacturing automation.
- 4+ years of design proficiency in Solidworks, specifically with manufacturing fixtures and equipment preferred
- Experience in many of the following methodologies: DFM, PFMEA, SPC, DOE, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, quality and Process Control
- Experience in automation manufacturing including but not limited to controls, vision inspection, robotics, and safety systems preferred
- Proficient in data analysis and data driven decision making using JMP preferred
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Detailed oriented with a strong analytical and quality mindset
- Excellent project management skills with strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred). Advanced degree preferred.

Salary varies by role, level and location, and is dependent on the cost of labor in a given
geographic region among other factors. These ranges may be modified at any time.
