ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting jointly to the GM Middle East and the EMEA FD, the Head of Finance is responsible for managing all finance and accounting related topics for JUUL’s Middle East business. This will entail working cross-functionally with multiple departments including global finance, sales, marketing, supply chain, strategy and IT to support the rollout of JUUL’s Middle East business from a financial and strategic standpoint. 

  • Business partnering
    • Act as Finance Business Partner to the GM & Leadership Team in the Middle East Hub
    • Understand key variances & drivers of performance (incl sell-through, velocity, conversion etc), providing insights to the business and providing reporting & commentary for the Middle East team, as well as inputs for EMEA-wide & Group level reporting
    • Support building of business plans and forecast, submitting to group via the planning tool
    • Defining high, medium, and low-case scenario plans while liaising with different relevant functions for input
    • Ensure consistency of the top line with functions’ budget and OPEX
    • Support the business with ROI analysis for marketing campaigns & other adhoc analysis to support investment
    • Provide sales & profitability data as well as understand of margin variances (volume, mix, price), providing insights to help with decision making
  • Commercial Finance
    • Work with Key Account team on contractual arrangements
    • Ensure the finance aspects of the contractual arrangements are in line with modelling assumptions 
    • Input to pricing decisions & support with observations on market dynamics including footfall, velocity, competitor information and market share data
  • Oversight of accounting, risk & financial controls
    • Provide data & other inputs for accruals to Shared Services, where required
    • Review month end financials for reasonableness, flag issues to Accounting Manager in the Shared Services, sign off final monthly management accounts
    • Hold the local Leadership Team to account regarding their spend vs budget/forecast
    • Share financials with local Leadership Team, explaining variances
    • Ensure spend authority levels and other controls are maintained, as appropriate, and in line with Group policies
    • Ensure strategic risks to delivery of the financial plan are mitigated and managed
    • Provide data to Treasury, Tax and Insurance teams as required

This position reports into the GM Middle East (with dotted line to the EMEA FD)

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Essential skills:
    • 7+ years of finance experience, preferably with a portion being in the Middle East region, in finance roles, management consulting/corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity/venture capital, or a high-growth startup 
    • Demonstrated interest in CPG/FMCG, tech or medical device industries
    • Generalist, functional understanding, spanning finance, sales, product, marketing supply chain, e-commerce, and regulatory/legal
    • High degree of organization and efficiency with demonstrated attention to detail
    • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills 
    • Strong experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis
    • High proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and PowerPoint
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
    • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
    • Project management and multitasking skills
    • Be comfortable with rapidly changing environment with diverse needs and projects and to operate cross-functionally within a medium-sized, flexible organization
