Handshake is hiring a Head of Student Content and Brand Marketing reporting to VP of Marketing on the Student Marketing Team. In this role you will drive the development of engaging and breakthrough brand campaigns that resonate with our college student audience, engaging the millions of students using Handshake to explore careers, meet employers, find opportunities, and land great jobs that lead to a meaningful career. You’ll bring the Handshake brand to life and make Handshake an essential—and great—part of a student’s early career.
In this role you’ll create the content and channel strategy to ensure Handshake stays top-of-mind for students as they explore careers and find jobs. You’ll develop creative campaigns with our brand design team and copywriters to bring Handshake to life. You’ll deeply understand what motivates college students and young alumni in their career search and develop clear, approachable content that connects with culture, speaks to trends, and boosts the Handshake brand in creative and unexpected ways. You’ll partner with product to drive our SEO content roadmap. You’ll experiment with media to see what captures attention and builds affinity, whether it’s social, video, articles, events, stories, podcasts, or other new channels and platforms. You’ll also have the chance to build and grow a team of committed, creative, mission-driven marketers within the student marketing team!
Use deep understanding of the student experience, preference, and profile to lead Handshake’s brand perception through the development of campaigns, content and brand partnerships.
Develop seasonal, multi-channel brand campaigns in partnership with design, copywriting, lifecycle and product marketing teams
Bring Handshake’s brand to life for students through content various media and our owned channels, including social and email
Leverage user insights to test and develop a point of view on the effectiveness of new/emerging online communities/channels
Explore influencer and other potential partnerships that help elevate the brand and connect with students in a unique and ownable way
Own and direct Handshake’s content marketing and social media strategy.
Translate company objectives into a content and social marketing strategy, and manage the content creation process
Empower, manage, and develop a high performing creative team to write, produce and edit content across mediums (blog/long-form editorial, video, social, email, etc)
Ensure consistency in brand voice and alignment with overall brand strategy across channels
Own and optimize an integrated content and brand marketing calendar to inspire and engage students throughout the year
Complement other marketing efforts to drive new student sign-ups and engagement
Work cross-functionally to drive SEO ranking through content roadmap
Partner with the lifecycle team to ensure product-driven campaigns are on brand and on voice
Cultivate a network of content sources within and external to Handshake (UGC, etc)
Own reporting, defining and delivering performance metrics and attribution methods to connect brand initiatives to business objectives
Considerable experience leading social and content strategy + teams
Experience driving a brand identity and experience across channels
Expertise using content marketing tools and platforms: CMS; social media management/listening
Experience creating many types of content
Able to measure, understand, and communicate the impact of content and social efforts
Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong project and team management skills; drive from insight to ideation to execution
