Do you have a keen eye for numbers and strategy?

Then Jobber might be the place for you! We’re looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to be part of our Finance & Operations Department.

Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers, while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want!

Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.

The team:

FP&A and Strategic Finance at Jobber is all about understanding the big picture - what is going on in every corner of our business. This team is special because it encompasses all areas of the company - marketing, sales, product, partnerships, success, fintech and analytics. There is nothing stopping you in this role from going deep into any area. It’s what we do. And this is why we care most about your curiosity, your drive, and your critical thinking skills.

The role:

Reporting to the Director, Finance & Strategy, the Senior Financial Analyst will start with core financial reporting - learning the numbers and what’s underneath them. From there, you will quickly move onto interpretation, diagnostics, and then strategy. As you grow, you’ll take over full responsibility for key areas of focus within our coverage universe (whether partnering with a particular team, owning a project, or expanding our scope)

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will:

  • Prepare our financial reporting for our board, investors, and executive teams. On a monthly basis, you’ll be primarily responsible for updating our reporting models and working with the finance managers to communicate the results
  • Contribute to our budgeting and forecasting. You’ll contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process by building financial models that reflect our go-to-market and product development strategies
  • Act as the first-line of defence on reported financial figures. As you build ownership over finance workstreams you’ll be responsible for ensuring numbers are accurate, timely, and relevant
  • Become a trusted advisor. Your insights and findings are leveraged to make and support the important decisions about how we spend Jobber dollars
  • Provide exceptional financial modelling and presentation skills, coupled with high attention to detail to be the storyteller of our financial metrics to better help plan, budget, and implement Jobber’s best ideas
  • Drive operational efficiency. While working with multiple departments you will look for ways to improve workflows, remove redundancies, and ensure best practices
  • Collaborate and listen. You’ll work with our Business Operations team in designing and implementing processes to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and execute on forward-thinking strategic projects, as required

To be successful, you should have:

  • An interest in building a long-term career in tech demonstrated by sector knowledge and understanding of industry-specific KPIs
  • Significant relevant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, accounting - we care less about the length of your time in these roles and much more about how these roles have shaped your skills, goals, and professional approach
  • Financial modelling and analyzing data and performance, particularly strong knowledge of Google Sheets and Netsuite
  • Experience navigating and constructing financial models and a high standard of what constitutes “professional” work
  • A strong and confident communication style. You have the ability to actively listen and consult with stakeholders, and you can articulate complex and difficult financial data and make it easy to digest
  • To be proactive and relentless. You are capable of seeking information independently, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources and delivering results
  • You want to learn and grow. You see the opportunity in front of you and are eager to capitalize. We will invest in you to help you succeed
  • To be comfortable in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment. We’re growing fast and things are changing every day - what worked yesterday might not anymore

It would be nice (but not a deal-breaker) if you had:

  • Progress towards, or completion of, a professional finance designation (CPA, CFA, CBV or an MBA) - not just because it shows you know your stuff, but also that you invest in yourself
  • If you bring any SQL, Tableau, or Payments / Fintech skills - all the better

What you can expect from Jobber:

Having been named as a Top 10 Great Place to Work in Canada, we walk the talk. Here are just some of the great things you can expect from us:

  • A total compensation package that includes an extended health benefits package with fully paid premiums for both body and mind, RRSP matching, and stock options.
  • A dedicated Coaching and Development function, including Development Coaches, to help build the career you want and hit the goals you set, while ensuring you’re reaching your fullest potential.
  • Support for all your breaks: from vacation to rest and recharge, your birthday off to celebrate, health days to support your physical and mental health, and parental leave top-ups to support your growing family.
  • A unique opportunity to build, grow, and leave your impact on a $400-billion industry that has no dominant player...yet.
  • To work with a group of people who are humble, supportive, and give a sh*t about our customers.

We believe that diverse teams perform better and that fostering an inclusive work environment is a key part of growing a successful team. We welcome people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to working with applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of the hiring process.
