Welcome to Jetty - a new financial services company giving renters easier and more affordable access to rental homes, while helping property managers drive occupancy, reduce costs, and streamline operations. Our goal is to build intuitive solutions that make it easy for renters to access homes they love and protect the things they care about the most. As we continue to grow and expand our reach, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help scale our engineering organization.

As a core member of our Engineering team, you will have substantial ownership over large-scale technical projects. You'll build innovative digital products with a super talented cross functional team. You will learn, take on technical challenges, and be empowered with Jetty's fast paced, thoughtful, and transparent culture.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical Design. You enjoy collaborating with other engineers and white-boarding potential solutions
  • Code and Ship. You value iteration over a perfect solution
  • Learn/Teach. You have researched the right tools and technologies for the job, and enjoy sharing what you've discovered
  • Communicate. You're willing to communicate with technical and non-technical teammates across teams
  • Project Lead. You don't shy away from leading your own technical project
  • Teamwork. You're looking to join a team that supports each other, celebrates team wins, and helps each other push through challenges without personal blame

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong software engineering skills with the ability to build, deploy, and scale a rapidly changing codebase
  • 5+ years of engineering experience including working professionally with Python in a service architecture
  • Familiarity with the configuration of common infrastructure patterns and services within AWS
  • Rigorous attention to detail and willingness to test for both function and performance
  • Clear, proactive and effective communication
  • A plus if you have experience designing and implementing data ingestion and warehouse architectures for reporting and business intelligence

As a government contractor subject to Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

Because we do business with the government, we must reach out to, hire, and provide equal opportunity to qualified people with disabilities1. To help us measure how well we are doing, we are asking you to tell us if you have a disability or if you ever had a disability. Completing this form is voluntary, but we hope that you will choose to fill it out. If you are applying for a job, any answer you give will be kept private and will not be used against you in any way.

If you already work for us, your answer will not be used against you in any way. Because a person may become disabled at any time, we are required to ask all of our employees to update their information every five years. You may voluntarily self-identify as having a disability on this form without fear of any punishment because you did not identify as having a disability earlier.

How do I know if I have a disability?
