Part time Cashier - Summary

Receives payment for products or services sold by the dealership and plays a key role in maintaining or creating customer satisfaction for the business transaction.

Mon-Tue-Thur-Fri - 4pm to 8pm

Saturday morning 8 am to 1 pm

20+ hours a week, with Saturday shifts.

Automotive Cashier - Essential Duties

  • Greets customers at the cashier window pleasantly and professionally.
  • Computes customer bills.
  • Receives cash, checks, and credit card payments from customers; records the amount received.
  • Makes changes and issues receipts to customers.
  • Provides refunds or credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise or as directed by managers.
  • Reconciles cash drawer daily.
  • Works with department managers to keep abreast of new products and services offered, their features and value, and any price changes.
  • Answers customer questions about service performed or products purchased or refers them to someone who can.
  • Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution.
  • Reconciles gas purchase statements.
  • Provides clerical and secretarial assistance to departments as needed.
  • Acts as backup to the switchboard operator.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Automotive Cashier - Qualifications

Automotive Cashier - Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years related experience; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Dealership parts experience is a must.
