Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing operation of steady routes; dispatching and scheduling appointments with terminals, pick-ups and drop offs
- Responsible for managing a local fleet of Drivers
- Complete oversight of our drivers and daily terminal operations
- Working closely with the Office Manager in regards to qualification, hiring, training and retention of drivers
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and the ability to operate in compliance with these regulations as well as within company guidelines
- Managing routine and non-routine maintenance for all the trucks and coordinating such repair with various shops in the area
- Handling roadside assistance needs and developing a cost effective way to minimize on the road tire changes and repairs
- Monitoring budget and operational metrics while diagnosing and improving processes and procedures to ultimately improve performance and profitability
- Other duties as required
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 year of port - drayage dispatching experience and operations in the trucking industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills and problem solving ability
- Ability to multi-task various functions simultaneously
- Maintain positive attitude
- Have strong attention to detail
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule and long hours
- Strong computer skills – good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook
- Professional driving experience is a plus
- Spanish, Chinese is a plus
