About the Position
We’re looking for someone with extensive knowledge in distributed computer systems who can help us install, integrate, and manage our third-party applications at an enterprise level. Our firm has a lot of moving parts and the needs of our teams are always growing. Our portfolio of third-party applications is naturally growing with them.
The application types you’d be working with range widely, and include on-premise and Cloud apps. You would need to understand the technical details of the library of products we offer and suggest how we can use and evolve our offerings to serve more people across our global computing landscape.
You’ll be involved in the entire application lifecycle, from procurement, to cybersecurity review, to production release and support. Doing so will require close collaboration with several types of colleagues across Jane Street, including traders, engineers, operations specialists, and more. Additional responsibilities of this role will include:
- Implementing new enterprise features, fixing bugs, and timing maintenance tasks
- Communicating daily with our trading desks and international offices to keep our systems efficient and effective, and relaying their needs to our vendors
- Writing reports on troubleshooting progress with succinct summaries, alongside in-depth analysis
- Evaluating our third-party applications and improving systems where possible
- Over time, potentially expanding your expertise into other enterprise products such as (but not limited to) Tableau, Workday, Salesforce, and Atlassian applications

About You
- 3+ years of experience in a technical role, preferably in a financial institution
- Has extensive experience with third-party application management in a global environment
- Can prioritize tasks effectively and manage projects from ideas to execution
- Excellent people skills; can communicate clearly with others and explain complicated ideas to many different audiences
- Self-starter with an eye for continuous improvement; able to match complex problems with innovative solutions
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Empathetic and understanding; you strive to understand your users and their workflows to identify potential system gaps
- Able to self-manage large technical projects and programs
- Fluency in English required
