iX.co is looking for a highly talented Digital Product Designer with experience designing interfaces for digital products, such as responsive websites, native apps, connected devices, wearables and emerging augmented and virtual reality experiences. Our Digital Product Designers work collaboratively with product directors, technologists, designers, project managers, and business owners to engage in several different groups of digital properties, from traditional websites to mobile apps for the Sports and Entertainment industry. You will get to analyze audiences, data and competitive offerings to define user needs, document requirements and generate prototypes.

This position reports into the Design & Creative Director.

 

 Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant UI/UX experience (prior employment at a consulting firm or in-house sports/entertainment company a plus!)
  • Proficiency using InVision app, Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch or Figma
  • Strong conceptual thinking, a background in research
  • Demonstrates and articulates a strong understanding of information architecture, wireframes, user journeys and multi-step and cross-platform flows
  • A capacity for strategic, conceptual and associative thinking, and the ability to translate this thinking into compelling visual designs and supporting documentation
  • Can take conceptual ideas and turn them into delightful easy to use digital experiences
  • Demonstrates and articulates understanding of layout, typography, color, visual hierarchy and designing to a robust visual system
  • Experience establishing art direction, defining visual systems and creating and maintaining extensible design systems
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills and comfort with all levels of an organization, including executives
  • Leads client-facing design critiques and discussions; can answer questions and provide the proper design rationale
  • A passion for sports but an inquisitive mind about fan behaviors and biases
  • Shows initiative in the absence of clear direction, can identify patterns or trends
  • Has a desire to produce the best digital designs in the industry
  • A great attitude and a lack of ego
  • Online portfolio is required to be considered**

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively refine product requirements throughout the product's lifecycle
  • Partner with User Research and Data Science specialists throughout the design and development process to run research studies and experiments, analyze the findings and validate potential product changes
  • Assist in client workshops and discovery sessions and uses research insights into design decisions
  • Create workflow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes and any other appropriate artifacts
  • Create mood boards, concepts, page-level designs and prototypes
  • Complete designs iteratively that meet business objectives and requirements while maintaining and thoughtfully refining design patterns and UI standards
  • Leads client-facing design critiques and discussions; can answer questions and provide the proper design rationale
  • Lead the creation of style guides, designs systems and/or other documentation necessary for final delivery to client, or handoff to development
  • Ensure that all interaction experiences are kept consistent throughout the design process
  • Effectively manages competing priorities, independently distinguishing what is important and urgent and executes accordingly
  • At times, directs the work of one or more designers
  • Provides direct, thoughtful and impactful feedback in design critiques
  • Receives $450/year learning and development stipend, provides an overview of the books, conferences, training sessions that were used and how valuable they were to their personal evolution
