IronMountain Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Airworthiness Test Engineer in the Huntsville, AL area supporting a customer on Redstone Arsenal. Candidates should be highly motivated, a self-starter, and be able to handle multiple tasks. Candidates must already possess an active Secret level security clearance.
Job Duties:
Plan and oversee testing and evaluation of a manned aviation platform, components, and subsystems to ensure performance, airworthiness, and safety requirements are met
Review and comment on performance and airworthiness requirements, verification methods, verification criteria, test plans, procedures, methods of compliance and airworthiness artifacts
Status and track test and airworthiness data artifacts
Analyze test data and report findings to stakeholders
Collaborate with other functional areas (systems engineering, Air Vehicle, Missions Systems etc,) to define, plan and execute test and airworthiness requirements
Participate in design reviews, participate, and assist in planning and execution of test readiness reviews and flight readiness reviews
Participate and assist with adjudication of airworthiness qualification specification requirements and methods of compliance
Contribute to the development and improvement of internal tools and processes
Provide technical guidance and support to team members
Review data deliverables upon submission for data distribution and intellectual property legends in accordance with contract documentation
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Education and General Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of Test and Airworthiness experience is required.
Candidate should also have the following:
Knowledge of USG correspondence regulations, policies, processes, and guidance
5+ years (preferred 10+) working as a T&E engineer/analyst, and/or Airworthiness engineer and/or experimental test pilot on a DoD aviation platform
Preferred experience working in a PEO AVN PM, and/or AFTD, and/or RTC and/or SRD, and/or NAVAIR/USAF aviation platform program office/ test center (e.g., HX-21)
Direct experience with T&E and Airworthiness on aviation platforms
Engineering degree (preferred)
Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced, high-tempo environment
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
MBSE familiarity preferred
Up to 20% TDY
