Iron Mountain Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Software Systems Engineer supporting the Apache Attack Helicopter Project Management Office (AAH-PMO) located in the Huntsville, AL area. Candidates should have excellent program management, organizational, and communication skills with experience in managing aircraft system software. This candidate will work closely with the Software Branch Chief, supporting Apache organization, other engineers, pilots, technicians, government contracting agencies, and vendors to ensure system development success. An ideal candidate should have experience with Army Acquisition, be highly motivated, a self-starter, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Direct experience with aircraft sensors is desired. Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
Education and General Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Software, Mechanical, and Electrical) or related technology (Computer Science, Information Technology) degree and 10 years relevant experience is required.
Experience in writing software requirements and conducting technical evaluations on proposed software efforts.
Excellent Program Management experience and ability to communicate software requirements to OEMs.
Software experience with embedded systems and Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as VxWorks.
Knowledge and in-depth understanding of the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) to developing systems and software.
Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders effectively.
Job Responsibilities:
Apply sound acquisition and systems software engineering practices and principles to all assigned projects.
Support the Product Office team as the software lead and ensure all software requirements are met.
Assist the Assistant Program Manager in ensuring cost, schedule, and performance of the system(s) are met.
Ensure all software requirements are captured correctly in the Statement of Work (SOW).
Conduct reviews and provide feedback of software document deliverables such as STP, SVD, and STR ensuring all have the required information.
Provide technical input and recommendations for mitigation of findings identified during testing and evaluation.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
