Position Overview:
The Research Associate will be a critical member of Operations Team. This team is focused on supporting discovery pipelines and field trial work to uncover potential solutions for agricultural pests and diseases. This role will help optimize and expand current field trial capabilities and aid in the development of peptide validation testing systems. The candidate will also collaborate closely with functional teams, pillar project, and digital teams to execute tasks to support Development key objectives and milestones.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for receiving and shipping of field trial supplies and samples.
- Maintain shipping, sampling, and processing supplies for field trials.
- Prepare necessary solutions for field trial experiments and ship to locations.
- Processing of field trial samples including assuring proper temperature control, receiving, homogenizing, labeling, aliquoting, weighing, delivering, storing, and disposal upon completion.
- Organization of storage and processing and status tracking of both.
- Perform sample processing and detection with an eye to continuously improve efficiency and quality performance metrics.
- Assist in experimental preparation and assay execution.
- Provide support for general laboratory supply and maintenance tasks.
- Work closely with an entrepreneurial, highly collaborative, interdisciplinary team and contribute to a team culture that embraces teamwork, innovation and generating results.
- Additional project work and duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Requirements):
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Plant Physiology, Plant Biology, or related science
- At least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience; industry experience a plus.
- Knowledge of molecular and cell-based assay development
- Experience in bioinformatics and with commonly used data analysis tools
- Ability to work independently as a technical specialist under the guidance of a more senior investigator.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
