Role Summary:

Intermex is looking for a highly skilled Director of Software Quality Assurance who can bring both technical expertise and strategic leadership to our organization, ensuring that software products not only meet but exceed the rigorous standards your company and industry demand.

As the Director of Quality Assurance, you will oversee a team of 50+ QA engineers to ensure the highest standards of software quality and reliability. Reporting directly to the VP of Software Engineering, your leadership will be pivotal in refining our QA processes and methodologies to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive quality assurance strategies and classification systems to ensure precise issue tracking and resolution.
  • Manage and mentor the QA team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to industry best practices in software testing.
  • Lead initiatives to expand the use of automated testing and implement advanced testing tools and frameworks across multiple projects.
  • Establish clear definitions for software defects, performance issues, usability issues, and other categories as part of our new issue classification taxonomy.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of QA processes with Agile scrum development, operations, and customer service.
  • Regularly review and enhance testing protocols, procedures, and metrics to align with evolving technology landscapes and business objectives.
  • Maintain a proactive stance on software quality, identifying potential issues before they affect clients or internal operations.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing updates on QA efforts and outcomes, and advocating for necessary resources and changes to improve quality.
  • Uphold and advocate for the highest quality standards and security in all QA practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering and or relevant experience in Software QA environment
  • 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role overseeing sizeable QA teams.
  • Proven track record in developing and leading QA strategies that encompass both manual and automated testing environments.
  • Extensive experience with QA tools and frameworks such as Selenium, qTest, Azure, K6, Postman, JMeter, and Appium.
  • Strong understanding of Agile scrum software development life cycles, QA lifecycle.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to conduct detailed risk assessments, root cause analysis and capability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in training, mentoring, and building cohesive teams.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
