In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of compliance and privacy strategies that support the company’s business objectives while managing risks effectively. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that our operations are transparent and secure, fostering a culture of compliance and respect for privacy throughout the organization. Your expertise will guide the company in maintaining a strong compliance posture and adapting to the ever-evolving regulatory landscape, thus playing a key role in protecting both our customers and our business integrity. 

 Duties and Responsibilities   

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive compliance and privacy programs that align with consumer protection laws, and data protection regulations such as GDPR and CCPA. 
  • Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments to evaluate compliance with consumer laws and privacy regulations, identifying potential areas of vulnerability and risk; devise mitigation strategies. 
  • Create, maintain, and enforce policies and procedures for the protection of customer information and ensure compliance with privacy laws across all departments. 
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies regarding consumer compliance and privacy issues; manage all external communication and reporting with regulatory authorities. 
  • Provide regular training sessions for staff on compliance and privacy matters, ensuring that all team members are informed about their responsibilities under current laws and regulations. 
  • Manage and resolve consumer complaints and privacy issues promptly, ensuring they are handled in accordance with legal requirements and to maintain customer trust. 
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior management on compliance and privacy issues, audits, and other findings, including recommendations for improvements. 
  • Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory changes that affect compliance and privacy frameworks and update internal policies and training programs accordingly. 

 Qualifications/Requirements:   

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or professional certification in compliance, legal, or privacy fields (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance and privacy roles within a financial institution, with specific experience in money services businesses highly desirable. 
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, consumer protection laws, and privacy regulations (both domestic and international). 
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of articulating complex legal requirements clearly and persuasively. 
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.  
  • Fully Bilingual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Excel (intermediate), Microsoft Office, and data mining.  
  • Analytical, managerial and organizational skills.
