What’s the opportunity? 🤔

Intercom has built a centre for our world leading support product in London. We are looking to hire an Engineering Manager who will run our Self Serve team and help us build on our previous successes. This team is responsible for our bot and automation infrastructure, and over the last two years some of our most innovative products have been in this space. Team Self Serve is at the centre of our mission to make business personal, helping our customers scale so their staff can focus on the questions only a human can handle. These products help thousands of people a day, getting them the answers they need around the clock.

What will I be doing? 🚀

  • Partnering with engineering, product, and design leaders to define a vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Self Serve space. 

  • Supporting and driving this strategy to clear impact with the help of a PM, designer and a great team of Engineers. 

  • Creating and nurturing a healthy team culture. 

  • Supporting engineers in their personal growth and progression.

  • Iterating the team’s processes and rituals to better fit everybody’s way of working. 

  • Helping to shape and evolve our engineering culture by contributing to our engineering organization programs.

What skills do I need? 📖

  • Top-notch people management skills. 

  • A track record of partnering with PMs and others functions to create and drive strategy, roadmaps and projects to great outcomes. 

  • Demonstrated impact in a similar technical leadership role. 

  • Ability to communicate technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to haves  🙌

  • Previous experience creating automation products.

  • Demonstrated impact in a world class SaaS product engineering environment.

How will I be supported? 

  • Another London based manager will be your onboarding buddy, giving you a helping hand to navigate the newness.

  • You will be part of our Automated Support group and have a close group of management peers to collaborate with.
