The ideal candidate for the Server-Side JavaScript Developer position is a problem-solver who bridges technical expertise with real-world applications. Professionals in this role contribute to building and optimizing server-side applications, APIs, and backend systems. They take ownership of development tasks, participate in code reviews, and ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable code. This remote role is open to candidates located anywhere within the Philippines who meet the requirements and can deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable, high-performance server-side applications using Node.js and Express.js.
  • Integrate with databases.
  • Implement RESTful APIs and API gateways.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration between client-side and server-side code.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in production environments.
  • Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of experience with server-side JavaScript development using Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and API gateways.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Past experience in a global workforce is preferred.
  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet deadlines when needed.
  • Node.js Certified Developer or MongoDB Certified Developer certifications preferred. 

Working Conditions: 

  • Remote work with possible occasional onsite customer and/or internal business travel.
  • Shifts and/or schedules may change throughout the year/tenure as dictated by management and business needs. 
  • May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time. 
  • May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard.
