What we're looking for:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Cloud Engineering to lead our talented team of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineers. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the development and execution of our cloud infrastructure strategy, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based applications.

Who you are:

  • 7+ years of experience in Cloud and SaaS engineering, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing a team of 5+ DevOps or Site Reliability Engineers in a revenue generating cloud environment.
  • Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including but not limited to EC2, IAM, EKS, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience implementing automated delivery processes with Docker containers.
  • Proven ability to drive the adoption of new technologies and work effectively across technical teams.
  • Previous experience with Ansible and Linux operating system tuning is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

How you will create impact:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 5+ DevOps or Site Reliability Engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Define and implement best practices for cloud infrastructure management, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Manage and maintain Linux-based systems to support our cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring smooth deployment and orchestration.
  • Drive the adoption of CI/CD pipelines to automate the delivery and management of SaaS applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new technology solutions that enhance our cloud infrastructure.
  • Define and scale cloud architectural solutions, working closely with architects to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions such as Terraform or Pulumi to automate and manage infrastructure deployments.
  • Participate in shared on call rotation on a periodic basis for escalated issues regarding platform infrastructure and services.
  • Foster a culture of trust, respect, and collaboration within the team.
  • Encourage open communication and feedback to promote a positive work environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance and productivity
  • Handle conflicts and challenges with empathy and a solutions-oriented approach.
Target base compensation amount for this role outlined below. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts shown below.
