We are seeking a motivated and experienced Insurance Producer to join our team at Instnt who is redefining the financial services industry operating as a Managing General Underwriter (MGU) which helps financial institutions insure against fraud risk. The Insurance Producer will play a critical role in driving new business development and maintaining strong relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of specialty insurance products, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Client and Broker Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, serving as the primary point of contact for all inquiries and service needs.
    • Understand clients' risk management needs and provide tailored insurance solutions to meet their requirements.
    • Help expand Instnt’s footprint through wholesaler and broker networks as needed.
  • Product Knowledge and Expertise:
    • Stay informed about the specialty insurance products and services offered by the MGU, including coverage options, underwriting guidelines, and pricing strategies.
    • Provide guidance and advice to clients and brokers on product features, benefits, and limitations.
    • Act as subject matter expert on product iterations and recommend changes to policies, guidelines and appetites as necessary. 
  • Underwriting Support:
    • Collaborate with the underwriting team to gather necessary information and documentation for new business submissions.
    • Assist in the underwriting process by reviewing applications, assessing risk exposures, and preparing submissions for underwriting review.
    • Liaison with clients to ensure they have the proper context on our product, coverages and process.
  • Market Intelligence and Industry Trends:
    • Stay abreast of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging risks within the specialty insurance industry.
    • Provide insights and feedback to senior management on market opportunities and potential areas for expansion.
    • Aspire to be at the cutting edge of insurance and be a spokesperson in the insurance industry for Instnt.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CIC, CRM) are a plus.
  • Active insurance license required, preferably in one of the following states: NY, CA, or NJ. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance sales preferably within the specialty insurance market or excess and surplus lines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Salary: $65k-85k plus uncapped commission and equity (placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant’s prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location)
