About This Role

We are a small team dedicated to delivering a frictionless experience to our users.  We believe in maximizing the potential for automation, and working cross-departmentally to create smooth processes that empower the people at Instacart to do their best work.  This is a high impact role, you will work directly with the Head of IT to implement our strategic goals and drive IT security projects related to the business.

What you’ll do

  • Develop processes for reviewing, testing, and improving practices within the team around security, automation, and issue response
  • Work with the IT and Security teams to drive better security practices across our applications and to provide training, documentation, and learning opportunities
  • Take ownership of complex IT systems infrastructure and services
  • Take responsibility for the quality, reliability and availability of our global IT network infrastructure
  • Lead and assist in cross-functional projects and deliver those projects on time and within guidelines
  • Proactively monitor systems, networks, and applications to provide input in improving the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of systems
  • Work to segment controls and permissions within both existing and new services and applications
  • Support periodic security reviews for IT services and applications
  • Work as a final escalation point for the IT Support team

Who you are

  • You believe in automating and optimizing systems to create a frictionless experience for our users
  • You work cross-functionally with teams to better understand their needs and implement solutions that help them work better
  • You have experience with implementing and supporting enterprise technologies, including: Active Directory, MDM, SSO, MFA, Firewalls, VPN
  • You have deployed large scales systems across an organization
  • You have experience in configuration management, deployment, automation, applications, and security
  • You are great at communicating with all types of people and personalities
  • You love technology and delivering great and professional customer service
  • You have experience with one or more scripting/coding languages (Powershell, Bash, Python, etc.)
