The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced growing organisation within the creative and dynamic ad management and ad measurement industry for converged TV campaigns.

We’re looking for an inspirational and seasoned Senior Leader to join our Edinburgh team at Innovid. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of shaping and evolving data, analytics and research across our product lines, leveraging data to serve as a true market differentiator and creating a centre of excellence for our global organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Product Strategy and working closely with our CTO, this is a unique opportunity to shape the strategy and culture of a global, data-driven company with cutting-edge technology. You will lead a diverse team consisting of Data Scientists, Analysts and Engineers at different stages in their career. You will continue to grow the Research, Analytics, and Data team, building a strong and resilient world-class centre of excellence that stays true to our core values. Expect to work on multiple projects across multiple clients, from briefing through to delivery.

This is a role for someone who comes from a technical background, understands the data science space, but is ultimately a leader who wants to build and grow a high functioning team of technical and analytical experts.

What You’ve Done:

Run a high performance function geared towards proactively finding business hypotheses worth chasing, regardless of the underlying technology. You know what a good Data Science project lifecycle looks like including requirements gathering, experimentation and hypothesis testing, inclusion of real-world constraints, model maintenance and updates, etc.
Built, grown, and led applied Data Science teams that produce valuable, actionable models meeting the identified requirements with the most appropriate tools and approaches to solve the problem.
Integrated Data Science into different parts of the business (product, marketing, tech) and have experience in online and offline model delivery.

What You Will Do:

Leadership

Lead a cross functional data team and oversee the development and execution of product research, internal data consultancy, and data accessibility initiatives to support the organisation's goals and objectives.
Partner with leaders across the company, providing insight and recommendations to shape and calibrate business, product, and data strategy.
Partner with Engineering and Product teams on both local and global initiatives to ensure global coordination, commercial viability, and product governance.

Define and monitor the data function’s OKRs, including the measures of effectiveness for data science & analytics.
Continue to embed the data function into different parts of the business (product, marketing, tech) and across product lines.
Educate and story-tell company-wide. Lead a collaborative partnership with the Engineering and Product teams with seamless strategic alignment.
Publish industry thought leadership - strive to be a voice that shapes common understandings of our industry via data research and a scientific approach.

Data Science and Research Analytics

Your teams’ model delivery track record has spanned across a variety of Data Science techniques, and you know from experience when to use the different approaches.
Lead advanced quantitative analyses using statistical modelling approaches in order to deliver against measurable business outcomes.
Support team members’ professional development throughout their career at Innovid, enhancing their soft and hard skills as required.
Guide the research and implementation of new analytical and data products, determining the relevance, appropriateness, and value of modern advances, i.e. AI/Generative AI
Oversee and develop our processes for evaluating third party data sets that can add value to our products

Tools

Personal applied experience with a variety of data science and analytical techniques across large datasets, proficient in scripting and querying languages.
Use a modular approach for building our mature Data Science offering, creating components in a way that can be reused, repurposed and ensuring continuous evolution to support the next generation of our product line.
Be comfortable working within the common tech stack which includes (though may not be limited to) AWS, Snowflake, DBT, Jupyter notebooks, Spark, Mongo, and Postgres among others. Documentation and task tracking typically live in JIRA/Confluence.

What You Will Need:

Post-graduate degree or advanced training in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or other highly quantitative field.
Strong track record of managing Data Science and Data Analyst teams and demonstrable commercial astuteness.
Knowledge of advanced statistical and analytical techniques and concepts such as sampling methods, prescriptive analytics, attribution modelling, regression, properties of distributions, weighting sample-based data, statistical tests and proper usage, etc. and experience with real-world applications.
Working knowledge of data structures, databases, and ETL processes.
Demonstrable history of devising and overseeing data-led projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate and influence key senior stakeholders as well as present and liaise with existing and prospective clients.
Capacity to foster a healthy, stimulating work environment that frequently harnesses teamwork.
Knowledge of AWS environments and services would be beneficial.
Experience in either media/digital marketing or a consultancy with a marketing science environment would be highly valued.
