Your Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader of Product Design to lead our design team, create & drive the vision, strategy, and execution of our product design initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in user-centered design, a passion for innovation, and a proven track record of delivering exceptional user experiences.
A Day in the Life
- Design Evangelism: Set an ambitious vision for the department and the company. Regularly engage with executives on important decisions and initiatives.
- Coach Product Design Leaders: Help Product Design leaders enhance their skills and leadership experience.
- Budget and Resourcing: Manage the budget for Product Design, including compensation planning, non-headcount budget allocations, and trade-offs.
- Cross-Product Collaboration: Ensure that Product Design is seamlessly integrated into the product development process. Advocate for process changes that facilitate collaboration between product management, engineering, and product design to create exceptional experiences.
- Establish UX as a Shared Responsibility: Ensure other functions are engaged in the product design process. Offer them opportunities to participate in and understand the outcomes of user research, and provide early feedback on upcoming designs.
- Research Evangelism: Champion user research and collaborate with product leadership to prioritize research efforts, validating that we are addressing the right problems in effective ways.
- UX Initiatives: Identify opportunities to enhance the experience of Innovaccer products, manage initiatives to address these opportunities, and track and communicate progress.
- Goal Setting: Define value-driven, yearly, and quarterly Product Design OKRs, and oversee their execution.
- Culture: Foster an open and collaborative culture based on trust, empowering everyone to deliver their best work.
- Team Building: Hire and retain a world-class team of Product Designers, UX Researchers, Technical Writers, and their managers.
What You Need
- 15+ years of experience in product design, with at least 5 years in leadership/mentorship roles
- Deep expertise in user experience (UX) design, user interface (UI) design, interaction design, and information architecture
- Proven track record of leading successful product design initiatives and delivering impactful user experiences.
- Strong understanding of design thinking, user-centered design principles, and design systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
