Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead – CRM Data Strategy & Governance who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of our Salesforce data. This role will be accountable for implementing robust data governance frameworks, maintaining data hygiene, ensuring seamless integration with downstream systems, and serving as the custodian of Salesforce data architecture to ensure accurate data capture. The Lead – CRM Data Strategy & Governance will work closely with various teams to enforce data quality standards and drive initiatives that enhance the integrity of our data assets.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for CRM data management, aligning data initiatives with business objectives and optimizing the use of data across the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements, set strategic goals, and ensure that CRM data supports overall business strategy and growth.
  • Establishing policies, procedures, and standards for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and security of CRM data.
  • Establish and enforce rules for data entry, access control, and data quality maintenance, ensuring that CRM data adheres to best practices and remains consistently high-quality over time.
  • Implementing processes to maintain high standards of data hygiene, including regular data cleansing, deduplication, and validation, to ensure that CRM data remains accurate and reliable
  • Manage and maintain data hygiene metrics, ensuring the accountability of Salesforce data flowing into other tools and platforms for Business Intelligence.
  • Ensure seamless integration of CRM data with other business systems, including marketing, sales tech stack tools, ERP systems, and downstream data platforms, to deliver a unified and comprehensive view of customer profiles and business segmentation.
  • Managing the full lifecycle of CRM data, from data acquisition and storage to archiving and deletion, ensuring that data is handled appropriately at each stage.
  • Leveraging CRM data to generate insights that inform business decisions.
  • Ensure clean and accurate data flow to the Business Intelligence team, particularly regarding lead enrichment, accounts, opportunities, products, and Channel IOs.
  • Ensuring that CRM data is protected from unauthorized access and breaches, and that it complies with relevant regulations and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or Salesforce administration.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce, including data structures, workflows, and integration capabilities.
  • Proven ability to develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, number crunching, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with teams such as Sales, Engineering, and Business Intelligence

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is defined by the establishment of robust data governance frameworks that ensure Salesforce data is consistently accurate, reliable, and up to date. This results in significant improvements in data hygiene, with a marked reduction in errors, duplications, and inconsistencies. As a result, Business Intelligence teams can rely on clean, timely data to create dashboards that accurately reflect the state of the business, driving better decision-making across the organization. The implementation of these governance practices leads to enhanced operational efficiency, reduced data-related risks, and a clear link between improved data management and positive business outcomes, such as increased sales performance, more effective targeting, and streamlined operations.

A strong CRM Data Strategy aligns with business objectives, supports effective customer relationship management, and drives better decision-making across the organization by ensuring that the right data is available to the right people at the right time.
