What does the team look like?

Site Reliability Engineers (SRE)  at InMobi thrive on the mission-critical nature of our complex mobile advertising systems as well as the challenge that comes along with ensuring their reliable operation. They have to utilize a combination of deep UNIX systems experience, networking knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and automation/coding skills to design, deploy, monitor, manage and operate all aspects of InMobi's mission-critical mobile advertising platforms in a cloud-native fashion.

What you would be doing?

  • Lead a team of SREs directly responsible for uptime.
  • Own end-to-end availability and performance of key services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. Automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
  • Lead by example, mentor the team and establish credibility through quality technical execution.
  • Manage on-call rotations across continents.
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement in line with the DevOps philosophy
  • Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews.
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity by heavily using cloud-native design patterns.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in recruiting and managing a team of enthusiastic, experienced engineers on large scale projects.
  • Expertise in problem-solving and analyzing global scale distributed systems.
  • Effective management and communication skills.

What is expected out of you?

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+  years of hands-on experience in operating production server applications and infrastructure. 3+ years of experience in running a DevOps/SRE team
  • Experience in software development in one or more of the following: Python, Java, Golang.
  • Experience managing an engineering team on projects with technical deep-dives into code, networking, operating systems and/or storage.
  • Capable of technical deep-dives into code, networking, operating systems and storage along with the ability to present your designs to the architecture group
