What we are looking for in a Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer will support the assembly and test of the Inkbit Vista, our flagship industrial 3D printer.  As a member of our small, collaborative team, you will work together with colleagues on the development team to support the design, documentation and transfer activities. You are excited about scaling the manufacturing of a new product, supporting process and design improvements, and refining documentation. The ME responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the design, documentation and building of the machines.
    • Designing and documenting parts, assemblies, fixtures and processes
    • Assembling the machine (to support design and documentation activities)
    • Building the BOM
  • Leading and supporting a team of 3-5 assemblers
  • Documenting product and assembly instructions
  • Coordinating engineering change orders
  • Maintaining (and/or creating) systems for tracking

Main Skills and Experience

Many great team members do not fit a “standard blueprint”. Even if you do not fit all aspects listed below, but feel that you can contribute to Inkbit’s team, please do not hesitate to apply.

  • BS/MS in an engineering discipline
  • 4+ years experience with design and/or building of complex capital equipment
  • Strong abilities with DFMA and assembly documentation
  • Strong desire to work with your hands
  • Program and/or project management experience
  • Experience with CAD, detailed drawings and GD&T
  • Able for infrequent out-of-state and international travel

Bonus Skills

  • Experience leading assemblers
  • Comfort and capability in working and communicating with all levels of Inkbit and its partners
  • Good IT skills, including analyzing and presenting data
  • PLM system experience
