The role of the Regenerative Agronomist is to delight Indigo growers with world-class crop advisory services. Indigo Regenerative Agronomists will have the opportunity to work with a group of forward-thinking growers that want to sequester carbon in their soils by converting to regenerative agricultural practices that may or may not yet have planted Indigo product on their fields. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: field trialing, field scouting, crop monitoring, regenerative ag and inputs recommendations, soil sampling, and crop budgeting/planning with the ultimate goal of maximizing grower profitability via crop yield and carbon credits. The agronomist will have the opportunity to create lasting relationships with a core grower base, partner with Indigo Account Managers to help growers succeed financially and promote sustainable, regenerative farming practices that are good for the environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Build grower relationships such that the grower deeply trusts and respects their advice
  • Help growers with the successful implementation of regen practices and other technical aspects of carbon farming
  • Manage grower-facing elements of carbon model calibration, incl., but not limited to soil sampling and managing soil sampling contractors
  • Demonstrate the value of Indigo’s technology through all appropriate means including demo field trials or digital agronomy tools
  • Act as the technical counterpart for in-market commercial colleagues

Competencies: 

  • Skillful communication of agronomic/technical subjects
  • Deep understanding of agronomy and regenerative agriculture
  • Experience with and high interest in microbial biostimulants and seed treatments as well as sustainable agriculture
  • Able to interpret trial results, scientific literature and tech tools to provide data driven information to growers
  • Loves continual learning, agile in approach, not set in their own ways, not a “know it all”
  • Strong relationship management
  • English language skill a must; command of one or two more European languages a strong plus

Qualifications: 

  • 2-5 years of experience in a leading agronomy role
  • Masters or Bachelors in Agronomy
  • Experience in a European core market
  • Solid understanding of regenerative ag and managing conversion challenges (e.g. weed or pest pressure)
  • Has strong knowledge of farming, may have farming background
