Indigo improves grower profitability, environmental sustainability, and consumer health through the use of natural microbiology and digital technologies. Utilizing beneficial plant microbes and agronomic insights, Indigo works with growers to sustainably produce high quality harvests. The company then connects growers and buyers directly to bring these harvests to market. As the Director of Compensation, you will lead Indigo’s compensation team to create and drive strategy to attract and retain top talent. You will guide leaders and employees through Indigo’s compensation philosophy, making sure we develop, implement, and communicate comp structures and programs that are modern, innovative, and competitive.



  • Provide strategic compensation advice on all compensation issues, including market trends, compensation structures, benchmarking and individual role pricing
  • Monitor competitive market trends outside of annual compensation matrix review
  • Maintain a strong pulse on the market and knowledge of all trends and regulations
  • Partner with Senior Vice President of People and CFO to prepare annual compensation review
    • Manage annual compensation review process including updating design factors and peer groups
    • Own annual compensation matrix refresh process, including modeling to forecast overall cost to Indigo
  • Provide a global perspective of Indigo’s Sales Incentive Plans that enables business growth and compensates sales employees in a fair, consistent manner while acknowledging and addressing potential business risks
  • Partner with the Senior Vice President of People to prepare flawless materials for Compensation Committee and Board of Directors meetings
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure IPO readiness from a compensation perspective
  • Manage a smooth and timely year-end compensation process
  • Work with the Senior Vice President of People and other Department Heads to determine merit and promotion increases that are competitive, fair, and within company budget
  • Ensure all compensation changes and Long-Term Incentive awards are paid accurately and on time

  • 10+ years of experience with pre-IPO experience at a high growth company
  • Strong understanding of private company equity as an incentive and how that may change as a company goes public
  • Experience with US and Global compensation Sales Incentive Plans, including: structure, best practices and operationalizing
  • Experience leading compensation for large, diverse companies with multiple compensation structures
  • Experience with Workday a plus
