Indigo is now hiring a Greenhouse Manager to join a growing team in Research Triangle Park, NC. This role will focus on managing all aspects of Greenhouse experimental work including coordinating facility maintenance and ordering supplies as well as contributing to assay development, screening, and plant evaluations to aid in discovery of microbes that effectively protect plants from stress. The individual will be required to have experience in implementing and managing greenhouse studies spanning multiple crops (corn, soy, cotton, wheat, and rice).
Develop greenhouse and lab SOPs including effective pest management protocols, and greenhouse specific safety protocols.
Monitor greenhouse and growth chamber environmental controls and perform equipment preventative maintenance as required.
Dispose of research material, clean and maintain greenhouse as per best management practices
Maintain detailed records of procedures and results.
Support experimental design, experiment implementation and capture of physiology metrics.
Support and enable implementation of automation technologies such as; automated watering, electronic data capture and digital imaging.
Manage space utilization across multiple users.
Maintain greenhouse supplies.
Manage interaction with facility greenhouse management team.
Manage activities of greenhouse operations team.
Demonstrated history of success
Comfortable with a fast-pace environment
Excellent written and oral communication
Strong Experimental Design skills
Argus experience preferred.
5+ years in greenhouse manager/scientist role.
BSc in plant biology/physiology, pathology or equivalent required.
