Overview
Do you enjoy working in a creative fast-growing entrepreneurial environment? With indie you´ll never walk alone! We place high value on our teams and pursue excellence for our employees and customers!
indie is empowering the Autotech revolution with next generation automotive semiconductors and software platforms. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.
We are seeking a talented and motivated Design Validation and Test (DVT) Engineer to join our radar team at indie Semiconductor. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and characterizing mmWave radar IC designs, playing a critical part in developing the next generation of automotive radar solutions.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including IC design, system validation, application software, IC packaging, and PCB teams, contributing to innovative radar solutions in advanced CMOS technologies. This is a unique opportunity to develop cutting-edge RFICs in a dynamic and fast-growing startup environment, where your efforts will directly impact the success of the team and indie.
Responsibilities
- Validate IC functionality in the lab to meet design and application requirements.
- Collaborate with IC design and requirements teams to generate test plans and procedures.
- Perform chip bring-up, design validation, and characterization across process and environmental conditions.
- Define, develop, and automate test setups for bench and wafer probing, balancing accuracy, measurement time, and cost.
- Develop and operate complex mmWave radar and antenna/on-wafer test setups.
- Implement test scripts, automation, and report generation using Python.
- Collect, process, and analyze test data for review with design and quality teams.
- Participate in test board design reviews, bring-up, and testing.
Qualifications
- MS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands on experience in a DVT role.
- Solid understanding of basic and analog circuit concepts (e.g., transistors, Op Amps, ADCs, DACs, oscillators, DC-DC converters, clocks, Ethernet, PCIe, and SerDes).
- Experience in post-silicon validation, silicon bring-up, and testing/debugging.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing test scripts using Python.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed and RF test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers).
- Expertise in performing RF measurements (e.g., noise figure, gain, power, matching, phase noise, linearity, spurs).
- Radar characterization experience is a plus.
- RF/standard board design experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and systematic working style.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluency in English is required; German language skills are a plus.
