Input is looking for a full-time staff editor to run the site’s product review operations. This is a new role, at a new publication, and we're looking for a creative thinkers excited at the prospect of helping define our approach to daily coverage and our voice as an outlet.
Input is a consumer technology focused publication dedicated to bringing a new perspective on the most important, interesting, and vital stories from the world of innovation — on a platform that is uniquely modern, with voices that are authoritative, insightful, and cut through the noise.
You will be responsible for building operations, teams, and workflows around reviews of new consumer technology. This will be focused on both standalone review output as well as roundups, buyer’s guides, and product comparisons.
You should have experience working in the 24/7 news cycle and a ridiculous amount of excitement and energy. You must be extremely familiar with the way news travels on the web and social networks, both as a consumer and as a creator. You must not use the word "content."
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience managing similar coverage full time for a national publication, working entirely or predominantly online. This person must be able to plan and maintain a calendar of releases and embargoes, coordinate with tech manufacturers and PR firms for review units, and handle planning and workflows for editorial initiatives in their respective space. You should have a great network of writers / reviewers who you love working with and trust you as an editor. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced newsroom, and maintain a high level of organization. A sense of design, familiarity with photo editing tools, and knowledge of HTML and / or other languages is a huge plus. Essentially: be comfortable in a very modern environment and be prepared to own a significant piece of Input’s output.
We’re interested in pushing digital storytelling forward, and as a result we’ve built some really modern products for editors and writers to tell their stories in a myriad of unique ways. You should be excited to harness new technology and tools to give audiences more insight and a better understanding of the devices that shape their lives.
