Engineering Lead at Stealth AI + Developer Tools Company

A portfolio company of the AI2 Incubator

Seattle, WA or Remote

ABOUT US:

We have an early stage startup focused on tools to build delightful interfaces. Every company or brand with a digital presence strives to build a world class user experience. In a world increasingly dominated by screens, the need for well-designed interfaces is more important than ever. There are powerful design tools to aid the conceptualization of an interface, But the tools available to developers today are not up to the task. This often leads to trade-offs in product delivery for a subpar user experience. In fact, there aren’t many tools to help track, prioritize and make data-driven decisions around the user experience of an existing product. We want to change that!

Leveraging bespoke algorithms and recent advances in generative A.I., this stealth company wants to bridge the gap between design and engineering, improve the front-end developer experience, support design quality assurance, streamline workflows between designers and engineers, and reduce inefficiencies and human errors from the last mile of product design and production. We want to enable teams to supercharge their design and engineering teams and build better products quickly and easily.

Our founders are leading experts in machine learning and human-computer interaction. The startup is currently in incubation at the Paul Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence (AI2). If you are excited about using A.I. at the intersection of design and code to shape the future of how interfaces are made, we want to hear from you!

We recognize that the best candidates do not always match the limited criteria mentioned in the job description but if you are excited about our vision and feel that you could be a valuable asset to our team, please don’t hesitate to apply.

WHAT YOU’LL DO IN THIS ROLE

We are seeking an engineering lead who will help launch and scale this effort from the earliest days, bringing an obsession to building elegant products and an ability to form a world class engineering and research team. In this role you will:

  • Build the core components. You will be involved in all parts of the company, but will focus primarily on building and maintaining the backend system that powers our tools.

  • Lead and scale the engineering and research team.

  • Work with the product and design team to come up with new features and product directions

  • Help shape the company’s culture and values

The ideal candidate has at least 3-4 years of experience leading a team of engineers, is comfortable writing code and has prior experience in the dev. tools space. Any experience with front-end is a plus but not required!

WHY YOU WILL LOVE WORKING HERE!

We are committed to building a world-class team that shapes the future of AI-powered tools in the design and engineering world. You will have the opportunity to shape the next generation of tools with us and have a significant impact on the production direction. You will be able to take on many roles, apply your skills across a breadth of responsibilities and shape the company values.

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the ground level of an A.I. company that is constantly evolving, takes on new challenges and has a vision to revolutionize this space. We are remote/hybrid friendly and want to ensure that every member of our team thrives in an inclusive culture. If you are passionate about making an impact, we want to give you the space and resources to do so!
