Senior Software Engineer at Augment AI

A portfolio company of the AI2 Incubator

You’re looking for the opportunity to build and own something BIG. We’re looking for a pioneer who will join us in building a highly personal product that makes people more productive. We are operating in stealth and have recently raised seed funding.

As a senior engineer, you will tackle some of our hardest problems and scale a culture of engineering excellence. You’re joining on the ground floor a team of 4, 3 of whom are deeply technical. Jordan co-founded Napster and built Cloudmark which filters spam from 19% of the Internet’s emails. Shu scaled Facebook’s Timeline to billions of users and led teams to ship first-of-its-kind camera experiences such as 3D Photos, Object Capture, and AR. Saurav founded and sold an online learning company while still in high school.

Take ownership and have an impact

You'll help define our engineering roadmap, systems architecture, and personally build out foundational components that power Augment.

Our team has built multiple companies and successfully brought dozens of products to market and scale. We care deeply about our culture and craftsmanship. As an early employee, you will be part of building the company as well as the product.

Solve hard problems

We’re all here because of a shared belief Augment is audacious, at the right time, and worth inventing. It’s not an incremental point-solution product where we take existing solutions and build a CRUD interface on top or copy a competitor.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take abstract, hard problems and break them into a system that can be maintained, tested, and scaled. You will build data models and infrastructure for stream data processing, ML training, and graph manipulation. And wrap them in simple, extensible, and efficient APIs.

Here’s what we’re looking for. Does this sound like you?

  • Takes ownership and gets things done
  • A mentor for other engineers, and bar setter for good engineering
  • Excellent communicator who thrives collaborating on a small team
  • Experience building and debugging distributed systems
  • 5+ years of software development experience

What Will We Do For You?

  • Give you a front row seat to the future
  • Respect you as a human being, in all your creative glory
  • Provide you with a steady supply of challenges
  • Support you in your growth
  • Provide you the latest and greatest Mac
  • Give you awesome 100% covered healthcare + dental + vision
  • Support your future with our 401(k) and life insurance package
  • Give you a fully paid-for membership to an exclusive Seattle Athletic Club
  • Reimburse public transportation costs
  • Provide access to Employee Assistance and Wellness Programs
  • And of course, as a valued member of our team… you’ll be offered stock options!

Who Are We?

We have an extensive track record building startup companies from 0 to scale, successfully bringing over a dozen products to market.  We have an audacious yet achievable plan to deliver true intelligence to all devices and apps, and we’ve been building cloud-based platforms since 1999 and AI products since 2002 – leveraging literally decades of relevant experience as we swing for the fences on this worthy mission.

We believe that a great culture and team is the bedrock of our company’s success.  What makes a team fundamentally great is not skills, but rather its values compatibility, communication skills, and group dynamics.  Our interview process reflects this belief – we always evaluate culture compatibility first by spending time understanding the human you, while sharing the human us, in service to a great fit for all.

We have a pretty sweet office located in sunny Seattle, but the team is composed of a phenomenal group of people spread all around the world.  Remote, hybrid, or in-office – it all works for us.

If this sounds like your kind of jam, please apply!

Augment is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Your answer will be maintained confidentially and not be seen by selecting officials or anyone else involved in making personnel decisions. Completing the form will not negatively impact you in any way, regardless of whether you have self-identified in the past.
