We are currently seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join our finance team and manage tax operations across the United States and oversee LATAM and EMEA regions.
Position Overview
The Tax Senior Manager will be responsible for the management and compliance of all federal, state, and local taxes in the U.S., as well as providing oversight of the LATAM and EMEA tax matters supported by external tax advisors and one internal headcount. This role involves coordinating the annual tax provision, managing deferred taxes, and preparing notes to the financial statements. The position also includes responsibility for Uncertain Tax Positions (UTP), regulatory relationships, and addressing any queries from tax authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Manage deferred tax calculations and reporting in collaboration with the accounting team.
- Prepare and review notes to the financial statements related to income taxes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and legal, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business operations.
- Prepare and present tax-related information to senior management and stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain relationships with tax regulators, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Collaboration and Communication:
LATAM and EMEA Oversight:
- Provide strategic oversight for tax compliance and planning in the EMEA region, working closely with external tax advisors.
- Ensure alignment with local tax regulations and corporate policies.
- Supervise the team member responsible for LATAM tax compliance and reporting.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure adherence to local tax laws and regulations.
Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
- Conduct tax research and stay informed on changes in tax laws and regulations.
Uncertain Tax Positions and Regulatory Relationships:
- Manage any Uncertain Tax Positions (UTP) and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
Audit Support:
- Assist in tax audits and provide documentation and responses as required.
- Liaise with external auditors regarding tax-related inquiries and issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive tax experience, with a focus on U.S. federal and state tax compliance.
- Experience with international tax issues, particularly in the EMEA and LATAM regions, is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and tax compliance processes.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across various teams and levels of the organization.
