The HR Generalist supports Ghent people activities, processes and projects in collaboration and coordination with the Inari people team in US (HR operations, Recruiting).
The role and responsibilities will evolve with the growth of the company and with respect to the personal development and career aspirations of the incumbent.
Main responsibilities
Recruitment for Ghent based positions:
- Creation of job requisitions, intake meetings with HM, sourcing, resume screening, interview scheduling & follow-up, offering process
- Job fairs: preparation, organization, participation, follow-up
- Seasonal workers (greenhouse and lab): work with leaders to define the needs; interact with our partnering agencies to present candidates and manage the administration related to the employment of temps.
- Coordinate and follow-up on immigration and relocation support for non-Belgian hires
Onboarding:
- Personnel administration: payroll, benefits, filing
- Briefing newcomers about HR tools, benefits
- Planning local onboarding: team meetings, trainings, …
Personnel administration:
- Benefits administration: health insurance, pension plan, stock option tax calculations, commuting allowances, … - subscription of employees, check invoices
- Payroll input: time tracking, special payments (referral bonus, relocation bonus, stock option tax, …), salary adjustments (indexation, promotions, salary reviews), STI payments, …
- Process requests for parental leave, changes in time schedule, etc
- Off-boarding administration
- Subsidy requests: tax reduction for researchers (Belspo), VLAIO submissions, well-being grants … and support audits
- Records Management: ensure information is kept and stored in the right systems with respect to GDPR and internal guidelines
Employee relations:
- Act as a point of contact for employees and managers for people related topics
- Contribute to the execution of HR processes
- Compliance with labor regulations
Projects:
- support implementation of new HR tools in the Ghent site: input to HR Ops, training of and support to users
- Initiate well-being initiatives in collaboration with EHS
- process improvements, automation, efficiency
- support implementation of new regulations in Belgium
Profile/requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related domain
- Proven relevant experience in a similar role (+2 years)
- Solid knowledge level of social law and payroll in Belgium
- Verbal and written communication skills both in NL and ENG – ability to explain complex topics in an understandable way
