The Risk Team operates closely with our Trading and Technology teams to manage and mitigate the risks associated with IMC’s trading strategies across various products, exchanges, and technologies. The Risk Team is responsible for identifying and assessing risks, determining adequate controls, and developing risk metrics and tools to monitor these risks. The team’s areas of responsibility are market, credit, liquidity, and operational risk.
The team acts as a key stakeholder in ensuring that the firm’s business plans are within its risk appetite and engages directly with the business on the review and challenge of risk management actions.
We are looking for someone with risk management, trading, and technical expertise. Attention to detail, quantitative expertise, and proactiveness are keys to success.
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Market Risk Framework: Understand the various positions taken by the firm and roll out market risk limits and policies, ensuring they are consistently applied across all trading activities.
- Risk Identification: Collaborate on the design and implementation of relevant stress tests and scenario analysis for various Derivatives and Delta1 strategies.
- Operational Risk Framework: Host an operational risk committee with key trading stakeholders, focused on analysing trading incidents and handling operational risks across the firm.
- Daily Monitoring: Ensure relevant risk measures, controls, and processes are in place, running daily monitoring and reporting processes to stakeholders accurately and on time.
- Reporting: Prepare regular and ad-hoc market risk reports and analysis, providing detailed information and analysis to trading & management.
- New Product & Strategy Approval: Support the new product and strategy approval process by identifying risks and constructively challenging different trading ideas.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain relationships with counterparts at clearing and exchanges to ensure compliance with regulations and capital requirements.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, or a similar field. Professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) are an added bonus.
- Between 6-8 years of work experience in a front office risk management role at a proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in derivatives or equities risk management, preferably with a focus on Asian markets.
- Proven track record of managing projects that span multiple stakeholders, teams, and locations.
- Proficiency in Python programming and knowledge of SQL is essential.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to solve problems creatively and proactively.
- Ability to prioritize, act, and perform successfully in a fast-moving and high-pressured environment.
