Job Summary:
The Senior Software Development Engineer at iHerb Supply Chain Solutions will be part of a team of engineers responsible for building a multi-tenant SaaS product hosted in AWS for a fast-growing international client base of shippers. The Senior SDE will be tackling problems that span a variety of domains and working on complex problems including high-scale and fault-tolerant services to spearhead iHerb’s investment in the shipping, sort center, carrier and global logistics business. In this position, you will be focused on outcomes, building robust, scalable and elegant solutions. This role will be responsible for balancing a feature-rich, long lasting solution while quickly meeting the needs of our customers. Experience with data driven engineering, microservice and/or event driven serverless architectures empower the Senior SDE to make informed decisions to solve our most complex technical problems.
Job Expectations:
Collaborate with experienced, cross-disciplinary team members to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market
Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the supply chain management industry
Employ secure programming and web application security best practices
Responsible for writing technical design specifications
Recommend and develop a detailed architectural design that is used by other members of the engineering organization
Work in an agile environment to deliver high quality software
Deals well with ambiguous/undefined problems
Analyze and resolve technical and application problems
Regular practice of CI/CD
Support, maintain and document software functionality

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Communication skills; must be able to articulate and have a strong technical vocabulary
Ability to coach the team on software best practices (design, coding, troubleshooting, work breakdown, work estimation, refactor strategies, automated testing, etc.)
Computer Science fundamentals in OOD, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis
Demonstrated ability to identify, learn, and adapt relevant new technologies quickly
Proficient in at least one: C# (preferred), Java or other statically compiled language
Strong knowledge of Relational and non-relational DBs
Knowledge and experience in Distributed systems, MicroServices, SOA and n-tier architectures
Knowledge of REST API, event-driven architecture applications, and associated technologies
Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
Knowledge of Publish/Subscribe or other event messaging technologies
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment
Experience with Parallel Programming / Thread-safe coding
Production experience with Docker, Kubernetes is a plus
Experience with DDD, Event-Sourcing and CQRS is a plus
Equipment Knowledge:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
Experience Requirements:
Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience with software development, design patterns, software architecture
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related fields
Judgment/Reasoning Ability: Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.

The anticipated pay scale for this position can be found below, however the pay range applicable to you may vary by geographic location based on where the job is located or where you work. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc. iHerb, LLC is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.
