The Associate Network Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, and upgrade of networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, SD-WAN and network management systems. The Associate Network Engineer will monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission. Provide technical support to various end users with regards to LAN/MAN/WAN (local/metropolitan/wide area networks) and cloud-based networks.
Proactively identify opportunities for network operational teams to minimize or eliminate repetitive work through automation scripts
Document system standards, automation processes and workflows
Generate and distribute network operational status reports
Participate in maintaining automation standards for configuring networking devices
Configure, support Gigabit Ethernet Switching/Routing (EIGRP & BGP), IPv4
Proactively monitor iHerb WIFI solutions on prem and cloud
Build and implement diverse WAN environments
Support and implement QoS for a voice / video / data network environment
Maintain diverse WAN environments using multi-carrier solutions
Plan network layouts and configure systems to user environments
Analyze network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements
Work with internal and external customers to fill information gaps and communicate architecture and technical solutions
Support the acquisition of hardware and software
Sense of urgency and great perseverance for problem solving
Be available to participate in the team on-call support rotation and for any system outages
Participate in an on-call rotation, 24x7 operations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
CCNA level routing/switching
Experience with CCNP
Experience with SDWAN
Demonstrated experience with Layer 2, 3 and 4 networking - Knowledge and working experience with EIGRP and BGP routing protocols
In depth knowledge of spanning-tree & associated technologies including BDPUs, MST, RPVST
Experienced in troubleshooting using packet capture and following the packet methodology finding root cause analysis (RCA)
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
Knowledge of security products and HW-based firewalls.
Generally requires three (3) plus years of network integration experience and supporting large enterprise networks. Engineer level, experience in working with enterprise level networks, and data center network environments. AWS, CGP experience is a plus.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
