The Security Manager is responsible for identifying and eliminating sources of theft through data analysis, comprehensive process knowledge, and investigative techniques. The Security will effectively provide security services and asset (lives, buildings, equipment, data, & intellectual property) protection through design of physical infrastructure and processes in the Distribution Center and Hub. This position will supervise the security staff on a daily basis. This position will partner with Safety to assist with daily, weekly or monthly tasks. The Security Manager is a key member of the Operational team as well as cross functional teams throughout the organization as necessary.
Job Expectations:
Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of Security and Loss Prevention within the company
Operate surveillance system, review video, and partner with Human Resources, Safety and Operations on investigations.
Write clear and concise reports.
Supervise and coach a team of contract Security Officers and ensure that they are performing according to post orders.
Manage team of security personnel on daily operations issues
Walk the warehouse on a daily basis
Will assist with Safety department weekly, monthly or quarterly tasks
Manage complex data streams to identify meaningful, actionable trends
Manage multiple priorities simultaneously - oriented on results
Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones
Investigate potential theft issues
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plan
Maintain a good working knowledge of Company Handbook and Safety Policies
Maintain good understanding with Safety, HR and Operations Department
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
Good Communication skills both oral and written
Valid CA Security Guard Licenses /Valid CA Licenses CDL and Current Insurance
Comprehend and Speak the English and Spanish Language
Strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence
Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization
Passion for innovative Security and Loss Prevention solutions and process improvement
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Must be able to work in an industrial environment that requires walking for long periods of time
Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
Success in driving effective security and loss prevention programs
Comfortable with high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"
Equipment Requirements:
Proficient computer skills
Ability to work with electronic surveillance and access management system
Knowledge of Avigilion Video Management system preferred
Possess a working knowledge of access control systems including data entry and badge printing
Experience Requirements:
Generally requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in security services, asset protection, audit, risk management, inventory control, quality assurance, or other related field. Security supervisory experience preferred.
Education Requirements:
Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or Criminal Justice preferred or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
