POSITION OVERVIEW
The Technical Application Specialist collaborates in a support role with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solutions Analysts, IT Operational System and Application Support specialists throughout the organization and its partners. The Technical Application Specialist is thoroughly knowledgeable about all aspects of the ERP systems software and related databases. The Technical Application Specialist will design, setup, develop, test, deploy and maintain data processing solutions (incl. scripts) to enhance the ERP systems, Microsoft SQL environments (database engine, analysis, reporting and integration services; in combination with SharePoint) using tools within Hyva worldwide. The Technical Application Specialist is the main contact for setting up and maintaining ERP systems including maintaining DTAP streets and related software applications connected to the ERP systems.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs as a member of the IT application team supporting (Infor LN ERP) applications throughout the organization.
- Collaborates with ERP Solutions Analysts, Support Specialists and Management to determine appropriate system configuration and setup.
- Assists and manages ERP data conversion.
- Thoroughly understands ERP database schema.
- Executes IT related performance tests and reporting on ERP database in relation to the agreed service levels.
- Creates and maintains documentation and procedure guidelines/work instructions for ERP systems users.
- Thoroughly understands ERP security subsystem to assign appropriate system access to users at different levels throughout the organization and its partners.
- Understands business practices and procedures in order to design, develop and maintain automated workflow processes.
- Works as a Systems Analyst to help define user needs and develop data processing solutions.
- Analyzes, troubleshoots and supports with system recovery activities and ERP system issues reported by end users.
- Designs, develops, tests, deploys and maintains data processing solutions and Microsoft SQL environments (EDI, ION / Mingle I.e. - Infor XI, Barcode (Infor Mobility) and others).
- Monitors Infor and SQL database, Tomcat and mirror servers.
- Performs system set-up & configurations (VRCs etc.).
- Develops & maintains interfaces using Infor LN and connected systems.
- Maintains SLM server and license keys.
- Supports data migration, data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading (monthly solution dumps (PMC patches)).
- Develops, tests, changes custom reports in Infor ERP systems.
- Creates users in applications and provides the required access. Has understanding of SOD and applies the company SOD policy.
SKILLS
- Excellent understanding of ERP systems.
- Knowledge of INFOR OS Toolset
- Knowledge of design and project methodologies.
- Analyzing algorithms in relations to processes.
- Ability to think and analyze across multiple applications.
- Ability improve processes from a customer/user perspective.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Educational Level: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field is required or equivalent experience is required
Professional Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as an ERP technical specialist or technical consultant.
- Ability to design and install solutions for Infor LN (including OS) and related application within the application landscape.
- Ability to create data mappings and conversion script between various database types.
- Ability to create technical design documents.
- Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) or
Microsoft certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Data Platform and/or
Microsoft Certified solutions Expert (MCSE): Business Intelligence
- EDI/FTP/Batch-file scripting (programming) skills
- Well-developed communication and facilitation skills.
