Our in-house counsel are an integral part of our company, and we are looking for a dynamic, flexible, entrepreneurial attorney to help our department grow. The Legal department works across all functions to identify, assess and address legal concerns, as well as refine policies and procedures. In addition to providing solutions-based legal advice, we work with management to ensure that our company operates to the highest levels of legal integrity.
This Counsel position will provide legal support across the organization, with a specific focus on our Human Resources department. Among other things, you will be asked to provide counsel and day-to-day legal support on general law issues, contract review, as well as on strategic priorities in employment and personnel matters.
What you can do:
You are a hardworking self-starter who wants to join our dynamic Legal department. You will support our senior attorneys in our general law practice, including contract review, legal research and policy review. Our ideal candidate will also have substantive experience with employment law through work in law firms, associations or in-house positions. Preferably, you will have experience handling leave administration, benefits law, immigration law, policy writing, and performance management.
What you can contribute:
You will be assisting the broader Legal team, including help with compliance, operations, intellectual property and data privacy, among other cutting-edge topics in the tech sector. A substantial portion of your time will be spent advising our HR department on related legal matters, policy creation and support for research, as needed. In this role you will keep your Legal colleagues updated on changes in Human Resources-related laws and regulations. You will also assist in the supervision and monitoring of work performed by outside counsel and consultants.

You may also be able to contribute:
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience, with substantial experience practicing employment law, either in-house or with a law firm, preferably with a national or large regional law firm. Prior experience counseling clients on California workplace laws preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of employment laws and issues, including recent developments and legal trends
- Excellent judgment and analytical skills
- Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing priorities
- Strong eye for business and social skills
